Free Sensimilla Now !!

Aldubb opens 2009 with a Big Bang! After contributing THE killer riddim in 2008 to the question of ‘What the funk is dubstep?’, Aldubb moves dubstep to a higher level. Warm and detailed, with a heavy slice of roots reggae inside, Free Sensimilla’s basslines are warbling over ice-cold snaredrums in endless reverberation and wailing synths, with skanking riddims and organ grooves holding the vibes. High technology rarely sounded so good, thanks to a selection of excellent vocal tracks. This is dubstep in motion, 2009 style.

Let there be dub ! feat Ras Perez
International More Fire feat Jah Seal

Berlin’s busiest reggae producer Aldubb moves in another direction with a brand new set of cosmic dubs, titled “Advanced Physics”, which will be released initially as a digital download album. Mixing his trademark cool roots sounds with steppers-inspired undertones, and layering soundscapes, urban field recordings, synthesisers and philosophical musings from scientists and sound enthusiasts, “Advanced Physics” changes direction and mood like an adventurous quark…. Heavy dub with a light-hearted touch, recorded and mixed at the appropriately named Planet Earth Studio.

Ostroda Reggae Festiwal

August 24, 2008

Mr Glue, Jah Seal

Irieland Soundsystem was pumping bass into northern Poland for 4 days…
With an overall power of more than 15kW, Ostroda’s Soundsystem Stage was a bassy thing this year. Played by acts like Tricky D, RCola, Singledread, Digital Roots Movement, Pow Pow, One-Love, Kingstone, and more. Thank you Ostroda, we enjoyed it!

We don’t knock out one release after another at Irieland Music, preferring to work to a high-quality, handcrafted feel to our music. It’s something noted by reviewers of “ITOPIA”, by Jah Seal, released on Irieland Music in June 2008.

“Jah Seal delivers the goods,” says Chuck Foster in The Beat (USA). “I like that he doesn’t hit you on the head with dj flash or ready-made reggae cliches but seems to draw lyrical inspiration from a humble heart.” Or from Irieites: “Tunes which don’t shout at you but whisper in your ear.” Dubflash even gets off his couch: “Highpoint of the album is definitely the title track “Itopia” which is just wicked, especially the chorus and the horn section. Beautiful.” More reviews at www.irielandmusic.com.

For review copies of ITOPIA, please email contact@irielandmusic.com.

“Jah Soldier”, from ITOPIA, will feature on the upcoming Best Seven Selections 3 from Berlin’s Best Seven imprint, due out at the end of August, and a dubstep remix of the same tune by Tricky D is now out on 12″ on the Dutch imprint Sozialisten Plattenbau.

Irieland Music and Tricky Tunes present the 1st Berlin Dub Festival at Yaam on September 5th and 6th. The line up includes the mighty Disciples from London, UK, with Russ D on the controls and Jonah Dan on the mic. From Dominica via Germany comes Paul St Hilaire, formerly known as Tikiman, performing alongside the Digital Roots Movement. Other acts to look forward to include Canadian ex-pat Deadbeat, the Berlin Dub Club crew LuJah and Bobby Beebass, Leipzig’s Jahtari, Daniel Best (Best Seven) and I-Revelation Sound. Tickets on sale shortly at Tricky Tunes and Yardstore.
